Q. Is all "army surplus" stuff actual army surplus, made for our government and used by the armed forces?
A. You need to look close to find authentic army surplus products. Many companies produce products for the US government and sell the same or similar items to the public. That doesn't mean they are inferior just that they took a shorter route to get to you.
Q. How do army surplus stores get their merchandise...from individuals or from the army.
A. It can come from both actually. The government auctions surplus clothing, gear, vehicles etc. and the retailers can buy in lots. Individuals can sell their own items to the surplus stores as well.
