What can I take on a deployment to Iraq?

Q: I'm going to Iraq and was wondering what I can take.

A: It will depend on your unit. Some will let you take a "tough box" full of whatever we wanted. This is a 3 foot x 2 foot x 2 foot box that can be loaded on the conex and shipped three months before you leave. Consider packing a bunch of extra TA-50 as well as 6 months worth of hygiene stuff. You may also take a PS2, a 12 inch TV, a laptop and pictures of your family.

You should be able to bring your cool guy ruck but its up to your command if they’ll let you use it. Bring everything on the packing list!

Does anyone know where to get a proper Sea Cadet uniform?

I'm not really a sea cadet im a navy leaguer and im using a darker blue uniform instead of the real dungarees because they cant find a uniform in my size and im little... So the uniform im using now is basically a security guard uniform, and all i need are the dungaree tops, the pants im using are fine and my salt and peper uniform is complete. So if there is anyway someone can give a name of a shop or link to a website for the dungarees that would be appreciated... also ive tried surplus stores and the actual seacadetshipstore website, the surplus store doesent have them and i cant get into the sea cadet store, i need some type of member ship to get into the gear locker..

    Looking for a men's raincoat?

    Hello,
    I've been looking for a long time but haven't found a raincoat to my taste.

    I had the perfect coat when I was in the Navy -- it's a basic trench, not double breasted but a zip/button up-- with a very tailored/sharp fit (not sure the correct term). It has a more modern look to it.

    I've looked everywhere I could think, Banana Republic, Nordstrom's, Macy's, Gap, Jcrew, Kenneth Cole, CK and even military surplus stores. Most places don't even seem to have raincoats, just trench coats or wool/peacoats, or the style is very old school, double breasted.

    Price range anywhere under 0 works for me. thanks
    I've looked at the things on amazon and actually purchased a few (Land's End, LL bean) but returned them as they were all loosy and not tailored well.

    FEAR! Republican fear. Those who report Y!A questions and answers are working overtime...
    McCain's campaign has reached new levels of desperation. This is a sign of leadership? It is embarrassing to have such a high office disgraced by someone so pathetic... and I thought Bush was bad, Johnny is worse. At least with Bush you had an ignorant sense of cockiness. Now you got McCain and Palin sounding like they are kids on the playground.
    No doubt this question will be deleted by the spineless who are spinning out of control kinda like a Navy A-4 just east of Hanoi being tracked by people who just climbed out of mud huts and learned to work WW2 surplus 37mm cannons. They never even saw a plane 2 years before they shot Johnny down. Some leader, shot down by amateurs.
    seems Yahoo doesn't like the word c0ckiness...

    Bootcamp and BAH question/ confusion!?

    So me and my wife both decided to join the Navy. Unfortunately, due to the surplus in female only jobs I have the pleasure of being emasculated by her getting to leave several months before myself. My question is:

    while she is gone am I entitled to receive BAH and medical?
    And under what stipulations?
    And how do I go about setting such benefits up?

    Our recruiting station is nothing short of a complete nightmare and they haven't seemed to be able to help me with much. She left June 16th. I'm worried that I have been hung out to dry if I am eligible because we hadn't set up anything prior to her departure.
